Monster Flops

Some amusing things occurred as I was preparing for this week’s upcycle tutorial.  It all has to do with monsters and bottle tops. Let me demonstrate.

I used a Brianna’s salad dressing top and painted teeth on it.

I was going for a “scary minion” look with the large teeth.

Brianna’s top was combined with a tin can, felt, and more bottle tops, and I got this:

TURF WITH A GAS MASK!

Very strange.

Hey, look! The turf can hold notes!

Then there is the yeti that was made from these things, plus a magnet strip:

I cut the ring off of the little tabs that get pulled out of new milk cartons. They made great eyes, but all we accomplished with that was freaking the poor guy out….

WHERE’S MY LEGS?

Next, Little Bear got his hands on the marker when my back was turned. Now Yeti is on the fridge looking like this:

WHY IS MY HAIR BLUE?

Poor Yeti. He is rather adorable though.

All the felt used on these cute, (but strange) monster flops is recycled from plastic bottles. I got this piece from JoAnn Fabrics.

Having just said all that, I’ll bet you are all geared up for tutorial Friday!

Or perhaps not, after seeing what creatures already lurk in my studio….
